What could be better than a long weekend, long summer days, and a beautiful lake close by? In short, pretty much nothing. Since moving up north, Clyde and I have been very bad at not making the most of some stunning places to visit up here and so, in an effort to get out more, and use our trailor more, we headed off to Lake Tahoe for Memorial weekend.
Sofia was super excited to go away in the trailor. So excited, she insisted on eating dinner out there the night before we left. Being in the trailor also meant a first for her....she slept in her sleeping bag in a big girl bed. No accidents all weekend and no escaping during the middle of the night into Mum and Dad's bed. She did awesome. Not so much so that we are ready to convert her bed at home. As long as she is happy in her crib, I am content to leave her there but in a small confined space in the trailor it made things much easier not to have to deal with a pack-n-play.
All Sofia wanted to do the whole weekend was be at the beach. We found a nice little beach with a playground and hung out all morning Saturday. While it wasn't super warm (there was still a fair amount of snow on the mountains), the water was freezing cold, and the weather forecast promised thunderstorms all weekend, we had clear blue sky the whole time.
Our campground had a heated pool and Sofia went swimming both Saturday and Sunday. She took to the water again and seemed to pick back up right where we left off at the end of last summer. She was jumping right in and did not want to get out. In fact we had a major meltdown both days after dragging her out of the water with her teeth chattering because she was so cold. I do believe our girl is part fish.
A drive around to Emerald Bay. Stunning!
A little icecream before we left. Yeah....this is the kiddie scoop!!!
Rock on summer. Can't wait to get back out there again.

What great pics of what looks like a lovely summer break from everyday life. Thanks for taking the time to post it all. That was one big serving of ice cream!
