Big coughs

Nothing good to report here I'm afraid. Little Sofia's cousin Jack keeps asking when Sofia is coming home (he thinks she is going to his home) and that is the million dollar question. Still no word from the Embassy and the refresh button on my e-mail is getting worn out.

To add to this, our agency called on Monday......yeah got me all excited, only to tell me that Sofia has bronchitis. They didn't have much more information than that so we borrowed the services of a Spanish speaking friend (thanks again A if you are reading this) and called Marta, Sofia's foster mother. She confirmed that Sofia did indeed have a "big cough" but was being treated and was going back to see the doctor on Wednesday (tomorrow). So, we know that she is being well taken care of but I've got to tell you, this being Mum thing is tricky. I am ready to get on a plane right now to take care of our girl in Guatemala until the Embassy issues that coveted PINK sheet. Never mind that I can'd speak a lick of Spanish!! We will hold tight for another couple of days to see what happens.

Clyde is back at school again.....kids tomorrow and our friends from L.A. are coming up to visit for the long weekend. That should keep us busy and entertained.

Watch this space.......measurements and photos are due this week.

The Lousy Blogger

So, I've decided I'm no good at this blogging thing. My intentions are really good but those of you who know me, know that those good intentions never materialize into actual correspondance. I was always the one who came home from holidays with postcards written and stamped just not mailed. I can't help it!

Anyway, here I sit on a Friday night and decided I need to do a make up blog. So here is a quick summary of stuff.

We are freaking out that Sofia will be home with us in a couple of weeks. We don't have the definate date yet but we have been submitted to the Embassy and are waiting for that wonderful phone call telling us to book our tickets. We expect that late next week. I have not been sleeping at all. Again, for those of you who know me this is not good. I love my sleep and am very well aware that these could be my last two weeks of good sleep for many years. What is my problem? Might it have something to do with becoming a parent soon? Duh!!!! I wake up at night and so much is going through my brain and I can't seem to let it go.

I am going to post a few photos of our visit with Sofia a couple of months ago. I am sorry I didn't do this earlier. Again, good intentions......

Okay, just a few more. I can't help myself.

Alright, I'll leave you be now. Enjoy the pictures! How can you not? Look at those eyes. I don't know what I did to get so lucky but I'm sure glad I did it.

So we have been very busy trying to get Sofia's room ready for her and Jeeves has been doing his best to help. Not sure if he really knows what his perch will be used for!!!

We're OUT!!!!!

We are out of PGN as of July 23rd. After only 3 weeks they have kicked us out of PGN the good way......with approval. We could not be happier. We estimate that we will travel to pick Sofia up at the end of August or beginning of September. This is complicated slightly by the fact that the US is demanding that a second DNA test be done on the baby to ensure that she is the same child that had the original DNA test. This has only just gone into effect so we have no idea how this will mess our time line but who cares.......she's coming home.

To add to this we got new photos of our girl. Life couldn't get much better.
