Same Crew, Different Day

Welcome Home Sofia

So yesterday at work I was surprised with a wonderful "Welcome Home Sofia" shower thrown by all my workmates. There were delicious treats and tea and Sofia, Clyde, Grandma and Grandpa were there as well. Sofia was spoiled rotten some more and loved all the attention. How lucky are we.

The crew at work.

How cool is this, Mum?

Mmmmmm Mmmmmmm!

Little Miss Ladybug

We had a little get together tonight with the neighbours, a little pre-Halloween gathering. Sofia made the cutest ladybug ever. Unfortunately, she wasn't too fond of the monkey and skunk we sat her next to (she cried) and it was over 80 degrees so the costume only stayed on a few minutes. We'll hope for some cooler weather and no other stinky critters for the actual day.

Snow Bunny

Sof's ready to tackle the slopes.

Miscellaneous

Are they not the cutest couple of kids you have ever seen? Peter and Sofia hanging out in the front yard playing with the jigsaw puzzle.

Sofia loves her jumperoo. The only thing that makes it better is when Mum does all the work for her. Her smile couldn't be bigger and her giggle is infectious.

I didn't think I would be one of those mothers, but I am!! I have given up buying the store bought baby food and have started making all of Sofia's food myself. I probably wouldn't keep this kind of thing up but I made this chicken, sweet potato and pea concoction last night and tonight, Sofia ate and ate and ate. Now that will make a momma keep cooking.

Monster morning

After a restless night, we woke and visited the farmers market. It was cold out and Sofia loved being bundled up. She smiled the whole time. Unfortunately, since we have returned home the lack of sleep last night has created a monster who won't nap. Dad has taken her for a walk.....here's hoping she falls asleep in the stroller.

The Day After

Here is our poor wee girl the day after her shots. It was so sad. She was a real trooper though even though she had a fever and still had smiles for everyone....the social worker, Karen and Andrew, and Nobuko.......especially Nobuko.

Dressed up all pretty for the social worker.

I'm too tired to jump anymore. I think I'll just lay my head down for a little while.

I love Nobuko. She has pretty long hair and glasses.

Two Owies and Some New Loot

Sofia had to go to the doctors today for her shots. I have been putting off the inevitable for weeks now, going into the doctors office and then deciding the wait is too long and leaving again. Today, since it is my last day before work starts we conned Daddy into coming with us so there was no escape. Sofia had two injections in her left leg. Of course I couldn't watch. There was a very long silence after the deed was done, followed by a rather loud wail. Amazingly, as soon as Daddy picked Sofia up, all was quiet again. She did so well.....what a brave girl. If it makes it any better, Clyde and I both went and got our flu shots as well.
Afterwards, we visited the toy store and Sofia picked out a new ball and a jigsaw puzzle and came home and played quite happily.

Worzel Gummidge II

Miss Molly, I know you think you have this title covered, but this was Sofia's lovely hair-do when she woke from her nap today. Glorious, isn't it? What I wouldn't do for a head of hair like Sofia.

Toy Bucket Mornings

Today is mine and Sofia's last morning together before I return to work on Monday. I will miss our time hanging out around the toy bucket. The mornings are such a wonderful time with her.....yes, you heard that correct, I love the morning, but only when Sofia is involved. Every morning when she wakes up, I go into her room followed closely behind by Barclay John. When Sofia sees Barclay she always lets out a squeal of delight. I pick her up out of her crib and Barclay starts bouncing, bouncing, bouncing trying to get high enough to see her and she leans as far over out of my arms as she can to see Barclay John. It is going to be so fun watching these two grow up together.

Where'd you go, Barclay?

Anything new in here today?

The tongue is very important these days. It spends most of it's time hanging out outside of Sofia's mouth.

When Sofia naps, everyone naps. Probably would be better if the critters didn't do it on our bed, but they were quiet so I'll take it.

Berry Cute

Sofia has been so spoiled by all our friends and family. We have received so many wonderful gifts from so many people and now we are way behind on all our thank-yous. Today, Clyde came home from school with this hand knitted strawberry hat from a student and his mom and it was just too cute not to put on Sofia.

Mop Chop

Sofia went to the salon today for a haircut. She was soooo good and waited patiently for her new "do" to be completed. Actually, it was just a trim and we decided to grow her fringe (bangs, for you Americans reading this) out so we can see her beautiful eyes.

This is her before shot.

The cut. Sofia sat in the chair just like the big kids.

Look how pretty. We got dressed up and met Grandma and Grandpa for some dinner.

I love mummy

Sofia received a present in the mail a couple of days ago from her Grandma and Grandpa - a new pair of PJ's that say "I love mummy" on them. Now, seeing as it's October, the bright orange feet and the fact that Halloween is lurking just around the corner, I have a feeling they are talking about the white bandaged variety, but I don't care. I will always be "Mummy" to Sofia. I know this decision will impact her greeting card selection forever as it has mine with my mum, but apparently I will be able to rely on the spooking season to get my fix of mummy wear.

By the way.....thanks G-ma and G-pa for the cool new stuff.

Smiles

Couldn't resist posting this picture of Sofia smiling but we have a big issue at hand......this hair. This was today's attempt at keeping it out of her eyes but I think there is going to have to be a major shopping expedition in the very near future for more hair accessories.

Daddy's Girl

Well, we always knew she would be a daddy's girl and so Sofia has started very clearly saying "dada". I don't think she connects what she is saying with her father but it sure is useful in the middle of the night when I can look across the bed to my wonderful husband and say "She's asking for you, honey".

Gumboots

Sofia received a wonderful gift in the mail today from Kiwiland.....her very first pair of gumboots. And not just any pair of gumboots I might add, but Buzzy Bee gumboots. Thank you Sally and Andrew, we love them! And until they fit her feet properly apparently they are pretty tasty as well.

Pucker Up

I caught Sofia mid pucker as she was blowing kisses to me - her latest and might I say most greatest trick to date. I can get up to twenty kisses in a row usually followed by an emormous grin. She has kisses enough for everyone......so all of you consider yourself kissed.
